The term genome wide association defines a group of studies on particular genes and traits. A genome wide study aims to find particular associations between couple of gene variants and certain genetic traits. Genome wide associations are advanced versions of computerized population genetics. If one or two genetic variants are shown to be co-segregating with a defined trait in certain individuals and if this event is statistically significant we can say that these gene is implicated in this trait-phenotype (the aha !
