Genetically Modified Organisms in The 3rd World

Fresh news from Turkey. Turkish parliament declared that any genetically modified organism (GMO)can be freely sold in Turkey provided that they are tagged as "GMO". This is not a law (not plan A) but equivalent to law in terms nationwide execution (but plan B). Scarring from the strong public opposition the current AK party can not directly pass such a law. However, they passed the second plan as "an application" under the big pressure of the lobbying efforts of big companies such as Cargil.

Cargil can sell GMO corn for high prices in Turkey. Cargil can use a whole country and its population as a guinea pig.

From now on Turkey is a dump for all GMO, including food, seeds, animals, vegetables, GMO food supplements, meat, you name it.

"The scientific committee" under the AK party lacking an understanding of a plasmidal transformation, viral transfection and genetic recombination said "yes" to this application. Turkish Minister of Agriculture claims that ther are test for GMO.

Mr. Minister of Agriculture does not know that unless the producer gives the primer sequence information, you can never know what gene is inserted, in which part of DNA. You never know that.

Money talks. Money talks to politicians, money talks (lies) to the public.

Worse than that.
