We know what genetics means. Anything that is on DNA that you have received from your parents is genetic. Genetic letters are coded by 4 letters A,T, G, and C. But what is Epigenetics ? Epigenetics reffers to the accessory factors around DNA. Sometimes DNA letters are modified by methylation, glycosylation. It is like putting little captions on DNA letters. Imagine a methlated Adenine, “A” as being captioned and the there is a slight change in meaning. When you transmit the very same letter to your progeny, son or daughter they will either have the captioned version or the non-captioned version. You will never know.

In short, epigenetic factors are kinda full-stops and commas, the punctuation on the genetic code.
