DNA and Internet are having the same job. Both, DNA and Internet are storing and carefully distributing private information of billions of individuals. Both DNA and internet are resulting in novel combinations of information under tightly regulated rules. In the envelops of sperm and the egg DNA distributes information carefully to other individuals. Internet does the same thing. Wikipedia.com facilitates novel combinations of information under tightly regulated rules.
Information distribution on DNA and internet is done internationally at the global scale. Viruses mimicking meaningful information are transmitted on DNA and İnternet.

One big difference, though. DNA keeps the job position for billions of years, whereas internet is on the job for little more than a decade.
