There is another cutting edge bio-technology coming in the next decade. Synthetic DNA assembly. Currently, 32.000 base pair (bp) in other words, 32.000 letters of genetic material can be synthesized. With the endless opportunities of information technology one can design and sythesize ant gene of interest.
