American Description of Work. Homework, Construction Work and Genetic Engineering

There is no doubt that Americans are hard working. Americans are very industrious as reflected by the $39,751 personal income per capita figure (http://bber.unm.edu/econ/us-pci.htm). Americans do their homework at home, work hard on construction, work hard in academia, work hard in the industry and produce lots of value.

Can we describe genetic engineering under the classical definition of work ? Clone that gene, knock out this gene, target that gene and do as much as you can. I believe we need to take a break and watch the consequences before jumping into more work.

You can undo a a construction work but you can not undo the effect of a mis-designed drug.
