Influenza Tests. Reliable or Not ?
Please go to google, type "cancer DNA". Read the first hit dated "10 Nov 2009 ... ". Actually it is not a hit. It is a google add, a commercial. In the social media world, the type, the quality of the test you are selling does not matter. All counts is that whether your domain names, your keywords are simple and popular enough ?
Everybody hears about cancer. I said "hears" and did not say "knows". As well as everybody "hears" about DNA. Again, I am not saying everybody "knows" about DNA.

There are a zillion of new services out there that promise to take social networking to the next level. They are based on matching people through their DNA information. There can be many permutations of services such as dating, family tree, social networking, or just plain health care research and DNA match.

Chicken or the egg ? Diseases or the genes ? These are literally the same questions. Do diseases exist because defective genes are present ? Or our genes go bad because we catch diseases ?
There are about 25.000 estimated genes in human genome. Only around 1500-2000 of these genes are known with their functions. The rest, 20.000 genes are read but the meanings are not deciphered yet. These genes are not different than unidentified Egyptian Hieroglyphs for the time being. We can see the letters but we do not know their meaning.
Berlusconi Demands Apology From Wife

In the latest installment of the soap opera gripping Italy, Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, 72, on Monday demanded an apology from his wife, Veronica Lario, 52, a day after she told Italian newspapers that she wanted a divorce.
Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) is a technology which allows genetic testing of an embryo prior to implantation to mother-uterus and before pregnancy occurs. It is used parallel to IVF and allows only those embryos diagnosed as being free of a specific genetic disorder to be transferred into a woman for pregnancy.
Numerous diagnostics companies are hoping to capitalize on the tremendous demand for influenza testing. It is also one of the big issues laboratory directors face as they prepare for what is expected to be a crush of flu testing fall and winter of 2009.
